The Earth Laughs in Flowers

This will probably be my last flower post until next spring as many of my flowers in the garden are starting to fade.
These last few weeks of August the weather up here in Minnesota has been beautiful. Nice sunny days, gentle breezes and warm (not hot) temperatures. You can tell that summer is coming to an end and fall is just around the corner. Fall is my favorite time of year and I’m looking forward to the season change. I love all the changing colors, apples, hay rides and cool evenings. But winter and cold always follows for us Minnesotans. I really will miss the flower garden until next spring.

We gave away zinnia seeds from my sister’s garden at our wedding… and the tag used “The earth laughs in flowers” quote! I love it!

Awww these are really pretty flowers. It makes me sad that the fall is coming. I love the fall leaves, but it’s the winter that makes me blue. I love the quotes that you added too.
Lovely images. I especially like the purple flowers in the second and third images. Do you happen to know the name of the flower in the third image? I have that but don’t know the name!

Sue the flower in the third image is a Pink Mist Pincushion (or Scabiosa Columbaria is the botanical name).
